Ridge Pool
The Ridge Pool is possibly the most famous salmon beat in North-West Ireland. It is a beat of the Moy river located in the city of Ballina. During peak season there are two sessions a day. One starts early morning and ends at 2pm. The second session starts at 2pm until sunset. Only 5 anglers at any time are allowed on the beat and they constantly have to rotate. If you are a serious fly-fishers you must at least fish the Ridge Pool once in your life. The Moy fishery is owned by the state and managed by the North-Western regional fishery board. A unique feature on this beat is that it contains a rock with the inscription "Fly Only" and a level marker.
