The Zulu or Black Zulu is a very old fly pattern that is typically tied on a #8 - #14 hook. It is an attractor fly that is used when the conditions are rough. Good fly for lakes and rain rivers. The tail is tied with red wool, the body using black floss or wool wrapped with a silver tinsel ribbing. The hackle is tied with a black cock hackle.
